Thank You + Updates!

Dear Friends,

We’ve settled in wonderfully at our new apartment and are thoroughly enjoying city life. I’ve become quite comfortable at navigating the trams, buses, and trains, and when the weather is good, love exploring the city on foot.

I’m writing this blog to extend a heartfelt thank you for your continued support of Tharien’s Art over the years. With your help, I’ve raised over $18,000 since 2019—a remarkable achievement made possible only through your generosity.

I’m thrilled to share that Rehema G., the young student from Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania, is excelling in her studies. Now in her third year of Pharmacology, she’s working towards becoming a pharmacy assistant. Rehema recently shared her aspiration to further her studies and become a full pharmacist. She’s aiming to finish her current studies with a 4.8 GPA, which would qualify her for a government bursary to cover her future university expenses. I’m in awe of Rehema’s determination and the progress she’s made, seizing the opportunity we’ve provided and excelling in it.

Elizabeth K. is also doing well, pursuing her studies in Hospitality, which she’s expected to complete in 2025.

The education of girls remains a cause very close to my heart. I’ve decided to expand my support to include a FAWCO Foundation Education Award: Women in STEM. This $4,000 award supports the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), including medicine, chemistry, IT, engineering, geosciences, life sciences, mathematics, physics, and astronomy for women and those who identify as women. My contribution will be $1,000.

The remaining funds raised will continue to support the tertiary education of one or more girls at Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania.

This summer has been a creative whirlwind! I’ve added new cards to the Classic Collection, planned an exciting new card collection, and painted several new works. The upcoming card collection, which will be launched very soon, explores the art of gelatin printing. And yes, another Painting Giveaway is in the works—there’s never a dull moment!

Please feel free to share this blog with your friends and family, and encourage them to sign up for my newsletter using this link: https://www.thariensart.com/newsletter.

Wishing you all a wonderful September and a successful new academic year in the northern hemisphere!

Warmest Regards,
Tharien
