Hand-Painted Art with a Purpose
Are you searching for the perfect greeting card or a unique piece of artwork to brighten your home but haven’t found the right one? In my Antwerp studio, I hand-paint one-of-a-kind cards, prints, and paintings designed to add color and inspiration to your space or bring joy to your loved ones.
I’m Tharien, a passionate watercolorist and retired physician originally from South Africa, now living in Belgium. My love for helping others has always been a part of my journey. From 2019 to 2022, I served as the Target Program Chair for FAWCO, supporting the fundraising for S.A.F.E., a project of Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania. During this time, I donated all proceeds from my artwork to the cause.
When I’m not painting, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my husband, our children and their partners and new grand daughter.
Continuing Support Through Art
I am committed to using my art to support the tertiary education of girls residing at the Safe House of Hope. The cost of supporting a student at a college or university ranges from $1,500 to $2,000 per year. With your support, we can help these students pursue their dreams and build brighter futures.
In addition, I supported the FAWCO Foundation Education Award: Women in STEM - a $4,000 scholarship for women and individuals who identify as women studying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics - with a contribution of $1,000 for the 2024/5 grant cycle.
