Hand-Painted Art with a Purpose

Are you looking for the perfect greeting card or beautiful artwork to brighten up your home, but just can’t seem to find what you’re looking for? At my studio in Antwerp, Belgium, I hand-paint one-of-a-kind cards, prints, and paintings that will bring color and inspiration into your space or into the hands of your loved ones. When I’m not painting, I also enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my husband and our two grown children.

I’m Tharien, an enthusiastic watercolorist and retired physician who grew up in South Africa and now lives in Belgium. My passion for helping and supporting others has been a constant in my life. From 2019 to 2022, I served as the Target Program Chair for FAWCO, supporting the fundraising for S.A.F.E., a project of Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania, by donating all proceeds from my cards, prints, and paintings to this project.

Continuing Support Through Art

It is my goal to continue using my art to support the tertiary education of girls residing at the Safe House of Hope. The cost to support a student at a college or university varies between $1,500-$2,000 per year. Your support will enable me (and you) to help these students reach their dreams.

I have also decided to branch out and support the FAWCO Foundation Education Award: Women in STEM, a $4,000 award for the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This includes the study of medicine, chemistry, computer and information technology science, engineering, geosciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physics, and astronomy for women and individuals who identify as women. My contribution will be $1,000.
