Tanzanian Memories
This collection is paying homage to our recent travels to Tanzania.
Penye nia ipo njia, meaning “Where there’s a will there’ s a way!”
I love fabric, and was blown away by the wonderful colours and designs of Kitenge fabric. I knew this was going to be the inspiration for a next art collection. I looked everywhere for small pieces of Kitenge fabric, and was ready to give up on the idea of using fabric in my art when we stumbled upon a tailor in Stone Town on the island of Zanzibar that was willing to sell some scraps, at a slightly inflated price! But, I got what I was looking for and could start dreaming, becoming creative!
This will be a small collection of unique art that will not be replicated. Once one is ordered, it will be removed from the page. The collection includes greeting cards, bookmarks and larger paintings.

All proceeds will go directly to support the tertiary education of girls at the Hope Safe House in Tanzania.
About the Art
The greeting cards are hand painted on watercolor paper and are mounted on 10 x 15 cm quality card stock. A matching envelope is included, and are individually packed in a cellophane bag.
Card: €5.00 per item
The size of the bookmarks is 6x20cm. it is painted on Hahnemühle paper, varying from 450g/m2 to 600 gm/m2. The bookmarks are not laminated which will allow you to frame it if you prefer to do so. I would suggest that you consider laminating it if you are going to use it as a bookmark to protect the fabric.
Bookmark: €4.00 per item
The larger paintings are 28x38cm and were created with mixed media on Arches watercolour paper, using Kitenge fabric. There are only two paintings in total.
